By opting for after-hours rehab, alcoholics and drug addicts can now get help while carrying on with their lives. Most people we treat appear to be highly capable, but their component exteriors hide hard-core addictions.

OUR PROGRAMME

The goal of First Step Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Recovery Centre, is to provide a safe and healing environment for its clients and their families. The recovery process requires hard work, commitment, self awareness and honesty.

The First Step rehab programme runs for 6 weeks between 4:30pm and 7:00pm Monday to Friday.
Evenings are broken up into 2 sessions:

  • Workshop type discussion – 4:30pm to 5:30pm,
  • Group Therapy – 5:45pm to 7:00pm

It includes compulsory attendance once a week at a 12 step fellowship programme and individual counselling sessions once a week. Sessions with family members form an important part of the programme structure. The patient will also receive urine screens for the duration of the programme, thereafter a relapse prevention programme is available and advisable to attend.
The staff at First Step are registered therapists which enables patients to recover a large percentage of the costs of the programme from their medical aids.
